Ode To Pie!

The holiday rush is over and National Pie Day (January 23) has come and gone.

The Palo Alto Farmers' Market reopens May 8 and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.

I'm busy testing new ipie fillings and flavors so stayed tuned for ipie updates!

In the meantime, you can still get your ipies by emailing me and telling me your ipie desires.

Speaking of desire, I was at a music and art festival late last year and had the good fortune to meet poet Silvi Alcivar.

Give Silvi a word or phrase and she would compose a poem on demand from her spot behind her trusty typewriter.

Of course, my word was pie. And here is her poem:

Pie

mmm lattices and cherries
and butter, oh butter,
sometimes cream, and
chocolate and
butter, oh yes
butter.
to be sliced
and plated and paletted,
oh.

I couldn't agree more!

See you soon and as always: Eat More Pie

New ipie Filling: Apple Cranberry! ipie For The Holidays!

There is a new addition to the ipie family: Apple Cranberry!

The combination of tart apples, fresh cranberries, a light hand with the sugar and a hint of cinnamon and splash of lemon juice give
this filling a bright and delicious flavor.

The taste reminds me a lot of cherry pie but with more holiday spirit!

Need dessert for a dinner party, holiday gathering or even a hostess gift?

Don't stress, place your orders now -- I'm baking throughout the holiday season.

Flavors available include:

Classic Apple
A classic combination of tart apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of sugar

Caramel Apple
A squirt of homemade caramel syrup to the classic apple filling means sticky goodness!

Purely Pear
Pears, small amount of sugar and that's it

Honey Pear
Addition of artisan honey to the purely pear ipie

Apple Cranberry
Apples, fresh cranberries and cinnamon sugar

Send me an email to discuss your ipie needs! See the email link to the right.

And never forget: Eat More Pie!

And now for the fine print:

"When the frost is on the punkin...."
(James Whitcomb Riley)

Ok, whatever!

It is pumpkin time and Pumpkin ipie is here!

A slightly more buttery crust than the traditional ipie with a spicy pumpkin custard filling.

Last Day at the P.A. Market 10/10!

"Good apple pies are a considerable part of our domestic happiness" Jane Austen

Come see us on our last day at the Palo Alto Farmers' Market on Saturday, October 10!

Our pear ipie was a bit hit last week so we will be back with pear as well as apple ipies.

And don't forget the cinnamon pinwheels! Or as one of my repeat customers calls them -- whale cookies -- but then he is under 5.....

Remember you can always reserve your ipies in advance by sending us an email. The link is to the right.

See you at the Market!

ipie with my little eye: See you 10/3 at the P.A. Market!

This week at the Palo Alto Farmers' Market we will have two ipie flavors to pick from -- apple and pear! Try both flavors!

I tinkered with all kinds of spices for my new pear filling but finally came back to purely pear -- locally grown Bartlett pears sprinkled with a bit of lemon juice and a small amount of sugar.

Of course we will have cinnamon pinwheels as well!

We had a fun time last week hearing other childhood names for these treats. My favorite so far has got to be "parties."

As explained to me by a lovely woman, "my mom would bake a pie then would sprinkle the dough scraps with cinnamon sugar, bake them and say "let's have a party!"

Party on pie people!

This batch has a bit of sticky goodness to them so grab lots of napkins!

See you at the Market!
